Hey guys,

Just finished this game... and was quite disappointed.
Graphics were great, gameplay AWESOME, the game made what it should have - provide fun and turn me into a mindless zombie for a few hours.

But the story and some transitions... RLY?
During the gameplay I got flushed like 3-4 times and woke up unconscious on a beach. I mean FUCK, why don't you just tell a story like a normal person?!

Dev1: "Hey, next the player has to go from *this* location over *there*, where he will have to get the sample... I thin...."

Boss: "Flush him."

After 3 flushes, you really ask yourself: "What is WRONG with me?"

And in general, I think the story was quite weird with some gaps. I played Crysis 1, didn't recall as much, but the game made little sense to me. Here you got directly (literally) flushed into the action and then *somehow* put into the suit. I don't want to mindfuck nor nitpick, but the overall feeling I got from the story was:

unserious
rushed
Hollywood
childish

... the last one because in one part of the game, when you're close to death, your suit generates a face (probably the black guy - Prophet) and he goes all "Stand up marine!" which I found lame. The suit and it's deep voice always gave me the impression that it is badass, mysterious and dangerous. But the "marine talk" killed that and didn't really motivate me - I felt as if only smaller kids could get impressed by that. It just felt a bit ridiculous.

Fast forward to the ending - just before ending the game (as in 5 minutes before it ends in a really weird way) you get to fight 6 badass ninja... bosses? After you take them down, you get a total of 30'000 nano credits - which you can use to unlock high-tier functions, like Stealth Trace, etc...

I did that, HOPING that I would encounter more of them and have an easier time fighting them (I almost died, but managed to monkey-jump myself out somehow; SKILLz), prepare for the next level where I will have to use all of those newly-acquired functions and..... and then the game just ends.
What's the point of giving me 30'000 credits... and then end the game without me having to fire a single shot or use those credits in any way??
See what I mean?

So great game, had loads of fun in the firefights, they were quite challenging and I'd even dare saying the suit has an intergrated cheat-mechanism because it can see and trace EVERYTHING. Still, you can't just rush a group of enemies (on Hard at least). So all's fine, but I think they could've work on the story and some other elements, because it all just seemed like a weird mix that nobody put too much thought into.

Sure, MP is the glorious part of the game, but that doesn't mean you can just leave the SP as it is.

So, hopefully part 3 (??!) will try to make the game look serious.

I don't usually give numbers, but the firefights alone make me want to give 9/10... story wasn't as important, but I think it's a shame that it's on such a low level, Hollywood style.

How'd you find the game?
